Food: #MealPrep Saturdays!

Yup it's that time of the week again!

I started lunch meal prepping two years back. I was blowing my lunch budget by buying lunch at the office cafeteria. There were times that the food were either too salty (sodium overload), too unhealthy (MSG overload), or just too plain.

I was out of lunch money and hAngry most of the time. Hence I decided to do a meal prep.

What is meal prep?

Meal prep is simply packed-meals that you store in the fridge and are able to reheat (or not) and eat within a week frame. 

I have not tried storing meals for a month so I won't go there. 

For this week's meal prep, I decided to cooked chicken stir fry and boiled cauliflower (rice alternative).






Just a simple dish to prep. I did not include the snacks which is mostly brown bread with peanut butter and/or a banana.


Pros:


  • This is exactly what I want (my body wants) to eat.
  • Zero-spend on lunch money.
  • 4 days of packed lunch baby!

Cons:

  • I will eat the same (lunch) food for the next 4 days. Solution: dinner dishes variety.
  • Preparation is time consuming - but hey it's Saturday so that means non-working day.

OMG!


Like literally!

I have a confession to make - I have not been in touch based with this blog and has totally forgotten about it. *insert sad face here*

I was reading a makeup blog by a Instagram user that I am currently following (based in Dubai). She has a blogger.com site too and the moment I click a link on her blog (not sure what I click?), it went through this (my) site and saw the post that I have published since 2013! Bad dobby.

Let me tell you something. I love people who blogs and vlogs as per my opinion. I get tons of helping insights thru them. Without them, the world would be a seemingly very innocent place to live in (does this makes sense?).

So thank you internet world!

I hope to publish more of my insights, more of me, in this crazy world we help the worldwide web.

Just do it!

Have you heard about Nike + Running Mobile App?

I love going to the gym to do some cardio workout specifically my self-made 'combo run' - mix of treadmill and elliptical machine. Recently, with zero time to do workout in the morning during weekdays plus overloaded work, stress has taken its toll on me. I just decided that the gym is just becoming too boring for me. I was badly in need of a new strategy.

Last month ago, while I was looking thru my FB newsfeed, I saw this link that was posted by a dear friend competing against our schoolmates with this mobile app.  This has got me very intrigued and decided to join them.

What is Nike + Running App?

Nike + Running tracks your running pace and gives you virtual award once you have maintain your running pace for some time or if you have reach your run goals. The fun part is that you are competing with friends who uses the same app.

I started to run from in between 1km to 2km, but when I check my friends' pace I'm usually the last! So I decided to be competitive and started running up to 3k. Nowadays, I run in between 5km to 10km and noticed that I was listed as top 3 off my friends list (I just want that no. 1 spot!). The funny thing using this app is that I was enjoying the competition. Every morning, as soon as I woke up. I would look at my phone, tap on the app and see who run and/or if I still maintain my top spot.

The app is very easy to use. Whenever I'm ready to hit the treadmill, I  press start the app go to the treadmill and just ran. The best part of - it's  FREE! :)
